Certificates & evidence
Satino by WEPA
Tested, certified, verifiable.
We rely on recognised labels awarded by independent bodies – not on eco-logos of our own invention. Which labels a product carries is shown on the item itself. Here we explain what they stand for and how you can verify them independently.
Environmental label
Blue Angel
Germany's best-known environmental label, awarded to products that are particularly easy on the environment. For hygiene paper it requires, among other things, the use of recycled fibres.
Verify it here: Blue Angel register (Satino) ›
Environmental label
EU Ecolabel
The official environmental label of the European Union. It marks products with a lower environmental impact across their life cycle than comparable products. Our licence number: DE/004/162.

Circularity
Cradle to Cradle Certified®
Assesses products across the whole cycle – including material health, product circularity, clean air and climate protection, water and soil stewardship, and social fairness. Awarded in levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum).
Verify it here: C2C register (Satino GreenGrow) ›
Forestry
FSC®
The FSC stands for responsible forest management: forests are not overused and biological diversity is supported. It comes in forms such as FSC Recycled, FSC Mix and FSC 100%.

Skin compatibility
Dermatest
Products that come into contact with skin are tested dermatologically by Dermatest, an independent institute. You can tell which items have been tested by the Dermatest label on the product. Test reports are available on request.

Life cycle assessment
The ecological footprint of our fibres
We calculate the ecological footprint of our virgin and recycled fibres by life cycle assessment to ISO 14040 and ISO 14044, using the Ecological Scarcity Method published by the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN, 2021). The result is given in eco-points (UBP) per unit of quantity.
The assessment covers the path from raw material extraction to delivery (cradle-to-gate) – including land use, water and energy resources, and emissions (for example climate change and ozone depletion). These impacts are set in relation to tolerated target quantities, drawn for instance from international environmental quality targets and limit values.
Shipping
Shipping with DHL GoGreen Plus
We send parcels with DHL GoGreen Plus: transport-related CO₂e emissions within the German DHL network are reduced by up to 95% – through insetting (for example sustainable fuels), allocated under the book-and-claim principle. That is a reduction, not a claim of neutrality.
Exception for pallet orders: larger quantities are sent as palletised freight – the GoGreen Plus programme does not apply to those.

Transparency
What we deliberately do not claim
- We do not describe our products as "CO₂-neutral". We consider neutrality based on offsetting to be misleading – we would rather state the concrete evidence (certificates, life cycle assessment).
- We only advertise a label where the product actually carries it – not across the range as a whole.
- Choosing a selection results in a full page refresh.
